Job Description

Hinkley is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Design Intern to join our Marketing team. This internship offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced collaborative environment where you will contribute to various design projects while developing a deep understanding of brand identity and marketing strategies. As a Graphic Design Intern , you will work closely with the Creative Director and Graphic Designer II to support a variety of creative initiatives, ensuring consistency within Hinkley’s visual brand guidelines. You will also collaborate with the Director of Marketing to enhance brand visibility across digital platforms. Additionally, you will assist in the development of marketing assets for trade events, including High Point Market and Dallas Lightovation, ensuring a compelling brand presence.

Note : This is an in-person internship; remote work is not available. We are flexible with hours and with starting/ending dates. We will consider anywhere from 30 - 40 hours per week and will offer a schedule of either 4 or 5 days per week. This is a paid internship, will discuss hourly pay during the interview process.

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation and execution of design projects, including catalogs, advertisements, sales promotions, product packaging, signage, and marketing collateral.
  • Develop and refine layouts, mockups, and visual concepts for both digital and print media.
  • Organize, manage, and maintain digital assets and files to ensure easy accessibility for future use. Refresh/update existing Marketing materials for ease of use across the organization.
  • Support the team in website updates and maintenance, ensuring alignment with brand standards.
  • Assist with social media content creation, including graphics, animations, and promotional materials.
  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions and ideation of new design concepts.
  • Provide production support for large-scale marketing initiatives.
  • Assist in the development of creative materials for trade marketing events such as High Point Market and Dallas Lightovation, including signage, showroom graphics, promotional handouts, and event-related digital assets.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and are completed in a timely manner.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Currently pursuing a BA or BFA in Graphic Design or a related field, having successfully completed the Junior year of college.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop required; After Effects and Premiere Pro a plus).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity web/video/animation applications is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and categorize digital assets efficiently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for design and branding.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
