WHO WE ARE

Chess Solutions, LLC is a Virginia-based government contracting company that builds digital vetting tools. We work collaboratively with a number of clients to develop tools to facilitate client goals and mission objectives. In conjunction with our parent company, Presage Technologies, we integrate state-of-the-art, vision-based physiological analysis tools and digital media forensic tools into robust software platforms. Our goal is to provide our clients with the most accurate digital vetting and analysis tools possible in an easy-to-use, modern software experience.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As our Director of Government Programs & Strategic Growt h at Chess Solutions LLC, you will be responsible for driving the success of three cutting-edge products —eSSESSMEN T (our contactless credibility assessment and human interview vetting tool), Authentic a (our video, image, and audio authenticity verification and deepfake/bias detection solution), and STEEM (our compression-resistant steganography product). You will own the full spectrum of government-focused efforts, including sales, business development, marketing, customer success, and program management. This means you will secure new opportunities, ensure existing customers remain delighted, and lead product roadmaps to support renewals and expansion.

Because our solutions have broad applicability across the U.S. Government (USG) and allied partners, you must be U.S. Top Secret-cleared (or Top Secret-eligible). This role requires you to work closely with sensitive government programs, helping integrate and position our tools for maximum mission impact. If you are a skilled leader adept at orchestrating business strategy, forging new partnerships, and sustaining technical excellence, this position is for you.

You will partner with cross-functional teams—product managers, engineers, and operations—to tailor solutions for existing and prospective government clients. You will cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring their evolving needs are captured in product roadmaps. You are a strategic thinker, a clear communicator, and an agile program manager who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Much of your work can be done remotely; howev er, this role is hybrid , with an expectation of collaborating in person with colleagues and customers in Northern Virginia (Leesburg, VA) roughly 4-5 times per quarter and engaging customers globally in-person .

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and execute growth strategies for eSSESSMENT, Authentica, and STEEM within the USG and allied markets.
  • Identify, qualify, and cultivate key opportunities to expand our client base, focusing on new federal agencies, DoD branches, and allied partners.

Marketing & Positioning

  • Shape and refine product marketing narratives to resonate with government and allied agency missions.
  • Oversee the creation of go-to-market materials (e.g., capability briefs, demonstrations, case studies) aligned with customer requirements and security considerations .

Customer Success & Renewal Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for government program leads, ensuring ongoing satisfaction, renewals, and referrals.
  • Capture evolving client needs to drive product updates, support new mission use cases, and maintain high client engagement .

Program Management

  • Oversee and manage existing government programs, ensuring program milestones are met, budgets are adhered to, and client objectives are exceeded.
  • Maintain project governance, compliance, and reporting to ensure mission-critical tasks stay on track .

Technical Roadmap Leadership

  • Collaborate with technical product managers and engineering teams to translate customer needs into actionable product requirements for eSSESSMENT, Authentica, and STEEM.
  • Prioritize features and improvements that support mission success, focusing on reliability, security, and innovation in emerging areas like deepfake detection and secure communication .

Stakeholder Management & Relationship Building

  • Build strong relationships with key government agencies, System Integrators, and industry partners.
  • Represent Chess Solutions and our products at relevant conferences, trade shows, and industry forums, showcasing our capabilities and differentiators .

WHO YOU ARE

You are an energetic and forward-thinking leader who can navigate complex government environments and communicate the value of cutting-edge digital vetting and verification solutions. You blend strategic acumen with program management discipline, ensuring high customer satisfaction and driving long-term growth.

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Clearance/Clearance Eligible : Eligibility for a U.S. Top Secret clearance (existing, active clearance strongly preferred). The U.S. Government prohibits non-U.S. citizens from obtaining Top Secret Clearances .
  • Experience in Government Sales & Program Management: 5+ years’ experience in a business development or program management role supporting federal or allied government agencies, preferably with software or technology-focused solutions. Extensive federal-only experience and relationships in relevant areas will be considered .
  • Product & Technical Understanding: Familiarity with emerging technologies, including AI-driven analytics, digital media forensics, secure communications, and/or data vetting solutions .
  • Proven Sales & Marketing Acumen: Track record of generating pipeline, closing deals, and building strong customer relationships within the public sector .
  • Project/Program Management Expertise: Strong skills in managing schedules, budgets, performance metrics, and compliance for government contracts. PMP or similar certifications are a plus.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, and coordinate effectively with engineers, product managers, and end-users.
  • Strategic Mindset: Capable of balancing short-term wins with long-term vision for product evolution and market expansion .
  • Adaptability: Eagerness to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, shifting between customer-facing advocacy and internal product leadership seamlessly.

SALARY RANGE

$150,000 – $190,000 base per year with 10% bonus and commission schedule for new deals closed
