Atlas Companies is currently hiring a full-time Accountant . As a member of the Accounting Team, you will be tasked with supporting success across key departments such as sales, accounts receivables, and accounts payables. This role will work closely with various departments to advise on accounting matters and deliver prompt customer service.

Atlas Companies consists of four different divisions: Atlas Bobcat, Atlas Toyota Material Handling, Atlas International Lift Trucks, and Atlas First Access. We are an authorized Toyota Forklift Dealer and Bobcat Dealer while also providing a variety of other material handling and warehouse solutions for companies of all sizes.

Your New Role:

  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts
  • Review data and documents to prepare and post monthly journal entries
  • Maintain banking functions including electronic payments, uploading check data, and reviewing suspected fraudulent transactions
  • Assist with month end close processes
  • Lead cross departmental team to ensure timely submissions / collections of lease transactions
  • Setup and maintain sales tax codes as it relates to customer accounts
  • Cross-train in other areas of accounting and provide backup
  • Approve changes/adds to vendor master records
  • Support preparation of annual budgets, financial reporting, and audits
  • Complete ad-hoc reporting and project work as assigned
  • Light travel between branches
Requirements:

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP (IFRS / JGAAP a plus)
  • 1-5 years of experience in Accounting/Finance
  • Ability to work independently as well as a member/leader of a team
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Effective written and verbal communications
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to details
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
