SUMMARY: The Refinery Training Manager is a key support role for the safe and efficient production at the Hugoton Renewable Diesel Refinery. The primary functions include providing training, documentation, and support to Operations Employees. The Training Manager also develops and implements improvement plans and projects to continuously improve training programs and methodologies while keeping baseline training requirements up to date.
RESPONSIBILITIES: •Lead and support the department training programs to ensure all plant personnel work in a safe, incident-free manner.
•Develop practices, procedures, and training programs for plant operations and maintenance.
•Coach and mentor plant personnel in the safe, incident-free, reliable operation and maintenance of the plant.
•Help ensure personnel understand and follow plant safe work processes and their roles and responsibilities for executing the Operations Management System and Environmental Management System.
•Train new employees and existing employees moving into new job classifications.
•Set and drive expectations of disciplined operations through development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training programs to train and mentor operators.
•Ensure unit training modules are kept up to date and relevant.
•Conduct written and verbal/walkthrough knowledge assessments.
•Ensure that all employees are up to date on applicable certifications.
•Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis as required.
•Participate in audits of field activities, procedure execution, safe work permitting, rounds, checklists, etc.

•High School diploma or GED required.
•10+ years of experience in refinery operations. Previous experience in a Renewable Diesel or Sustainable Aviation Fuels facility is a plus.
•Previous supervisory experience preferred.
•Demonstrated leadership ability with team orientation.
•Field experience in plant operations and maintenance required.
•Ability to read and write effective reports, spreadsheets and business correspondence using standard Microsoft Office products.
•Effective oral presentation skills required.
•Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work environment consists of office, plant production, and outside climate conditions. Noise level varies within the production area.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE : Working hours to be determined. Occasionally extended hours or changes in schedule will be required as special circumstances arise.
