Promotions & Game Operations Internship Job Description: The Asheville Tourists are seeking internship candidates to assist with all aspects of the organization.
The Asheville Tourists internship program is designed to teach students about sport management.
All individuals must receive college credit for the internship . A letter from the school must be provided prior to the internship. The Tourists will cooperate with reasonable requests from the school, such as completing paperwork and providing periodic updates or evaluations. Interns will work in conjunction with full-time employees to gain knowledge of the industry and firsthand experience. Interns will receive a stipend and be paid per game worked.
Responsibilities include: - Assist all staff members with daily activities & projects.
- Assist with mascot and player appearances off-site.
- Help with execution of on-field promotions and other activities during games.
- Assist with updating daily game day script, prize box, group listings & video billboards.
- Management and execution of grass roots marketing plans
- Assist with supervision of merchandise operations.
- Price, re-stock and organize merchandise store daily.
- Assist with sending out weekly online merchandise orders.
- Help with daily upkeep of ballpark.
- Dress up as mascot when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: - Must be willing to work long hours including holidays, weekends and weeknights.
- Must be able to pay close attention to detail.
- Must be willing to get his or her hands dirty.
- Basic computer skills, including ability in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Must have completed at least two (2) years of college credits and working toward a degree.
- Must be able to receive college credit for the internship.
The Internship program runs from March 10- August 31, 2025. Special accommodations can be made for students who need to start later or return to school at an earlier date. This is a paid internship; individuals will receive a stipend and hourly wage.
