Job Description
The part-time Designer at Avanti Press will be highly creative with a sharp eye for detail and ready to engage their design skills to create sales and merchandising materials for our 4 unique greeting card collections: Avanti, A*Press, America and NIQUEA.D. A love of collaboration, exploration and a good sense of humor is required.
The part-time Designer will work on site in our Detroit office 3 days a week (Monday-Wednesday) and will work closely with senior creative staff on a broad range of design projects that may include sales and marketing initiatives, trade show graphics, website, social media and point of sale merchandising. They will be responsible for delivering on brand communications that evolve our core brand and remain relevant to our retailers and consumers. A creative thinker with a thorough understanding of typography, layout and print design programs will be necessary to help the team produce the best finished products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Sales and marketing support materials including catalogs, direct mail, new product launch collateral, and sales PowerPoint presentations
• Branding evolution and development
• Merchandising and packaging development (signage, boxed product packaging, category headers, corrugate fixtures, etc.)
• Tradeshow and showroom design
• Social Media
• Web Site
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Graphic Design, or Communication Design
• 10+ Years experience in a design related field
• Strong design portfolio required
• Expert in the Adobe Creative Suite, ProCreate and motion graphics/video skills a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint presentations
• Excellent eye for color, typography, information organization, and brand direction.
• A self-starter who is proactive, asks questions, is very collaborative, can take constructive criticism with a smile and can manage multiple projects with limited oversight
• Eager to contribute to an environment that fosters creativity and embraces challenges without fear of failure
