We are looking to hire a strong paralegal with experience in an insurance defense environment! This role is a hybrid position with at least 3 days in the Philadelphia office.

Job Details

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Case Management: Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and up to date. Manage attorney and client calendars, including deadlines, court dates, and appointments.

Legal Research: Conduct research on case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to insurance defense cases. Prepare concise summaries of findings for attorney review.

Document Preparation: Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery requests, and settlement agreements. Assist in preparing trial exhibits and witness binders.

Discovery and Evidence Management: Manage the discovery process, including preparing interrogatories, requests for production, and other discovery
documents. Review and organize medical records, accident reports, and insurance documents. Summarize depositions and other evidence.

Client and Witness Coordination: Communicate with clients, insurance representatives, expert witnesses, and opposing counsel. Schedule witness interviews and coordinate logistics for depositions and trial appearances.

Court Filings: File legal documents electronically or in person, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines.

Trial Support: Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including organizing trial exhibits, timelines, and strategies. Provide on-site support during trials, such as document retrieval and note-taking.

Administrative Tasks: Track billable hours and prepare time entries. Maintain records of correspondence and case-related expenses.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on insurance defense preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, litigation processes, and court procedures.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and case management software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Experience with e-filing systems for state and federal courts.
