We’re looking to hire a Medical Editor (Contract) for a Fortune 500 global pharmaceutical client. Team culture is based on open communication, accountability, and collaboration.

My client is looking for someone to join the Content Team to proofread and edit pharmaceutical marketing, health education, and corporate materials for errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, format, style, clarity, and overall sense.

• This is a 12 – month contract + extension.
• The Team is located in Mettawa, IL and is on-site 2-3 days/week.
• Hourly Pay: $52hr.

Responsibilities:

• Proofread and edit pharmaceutical marketing, health education, and corporate materials for errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, format, style, clarity, and overall sense.
• Ensure projects adhere to brand standards and corporate style guidelines.
• Verify compliance with applicable industry and FDA regulations.
• Confirm proper implementation of Medical/Regulatory/Legal feedback.
• Document and communicate edits and content queries clearly and concisely.
• Fact-check medical claims against published sources and create annotated reference documents.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience editing in pharmaceutical advertising.
• Exceptional medical proofreading and editing skills, including content referencing.
• Mastery of AMA 11th edition style.
• Experience fact-checking and annotating medical claims.
• Experience with Veeva Vault PromoMats is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with FDA regulations for prescription drug promotion.
• Proficiency in reviewing digital, interactive, tablet, and print materials for diverse audiences (medical professionals, consumers, and corporate).
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Professional and Microsoft Word.
