Job Description

Our client is seeking a meticulous and experienced Senior Medical Editor to join their dynamic team. This role involves proofreading and editing a variety of materials, including pharmaceutical marketing, health education, and corporate documents, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to brand standards and industry regulations.

12+ month contract

W2 Hourly Pay: $45.00-$50.00/hour

Hybrid 3 days onsite in Mettawa, IL

Key Responsibilities:

• Proofread and edit materials for spelling, punctuation, grammar errors, and format/style inconsistencies
• Ensure alignment of projects with brand standards and corporate style
• Verify compliance of projects with industry and FDA regulations
• Implement Medical/Regulatory/Legal feedback accurately
• Fact-check medical claims against published sources and create annotated reference documents
• Assist with project submissions using the Veeva Vault PromoMats platform
• Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to deliver high-quality work
• Attend relevant meetings and provide editorial leadership for assigned accounts

Required Skills/Capabilities:

• Exceptional medical proofreading and editing skills, including content referencing
• Proficiency in AMA 11th edition style
• Experience in fact-checking and annotating medical claims
• Familiarity with FDA regulations for promotion of prescription drugs
• Ability to review language and design elements with a keen eye for detail
• Strong time management skills and the ability to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy
• Proactive, able to prioritize, research, and problem-solve independently
• Collaborative and diplomatic communication style
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Professional and Microsoft Word
• 3-5 years of pharmaceutical advertising editing experience
