Marine Technician / Mechanic (Apprentice Experienced Positions Available)

Position Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Marine Technician / Mechanic (or Apprentice)
to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for marine engines and boat
systems, strong mechanical skills, and a customer-focused attitude.

Key Responsibilities:
● Deliver top-tier customer service and ensure client satisfaction.
● Perform routine maintenance and service on outboard, inboard, sterndrive engines,
and jet propulsion systems.
● Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in marine engines and boat systems accurately.
● Assist with boat cleaning and deliveries.
● Maintain detailed service logs, winterization checklists, and performance feedback.
● Accurately document work orders, parts pricing, and updates.
● Manage inventory of maintenance and repair parts.
● Operate company vehicles and machinery safely and efficiently.
● Conduct minor repairs on work vehicles as needed.
● Maintain a clean and organized work area.
● Utilize or be willing to learn electronic diagnostic software for engine assessments.
● Follow Occupational Health and Safety regulations at all times.
● Support additional marina operations as required.

Working Conditions:
● Schedule: Five days per week, with potential for overtime, weekends, and on-call
emergency repairs.
● Employment Type: Seasonal full-time (March–November) with potential for year-
round work for the right candidate.
● Work Environment: Hands-on, fast-paced, and outdoor-focused, requiring physical
endurance.

Qualifications Skills:
● Education: Grade 12 or equivalent.

● Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of marine engines, recreational
vehicles, and small engine mechanics.
● Certification: Marine Mechanic certification or apprenticeship (preferred but not
mandatory).
● Mechanical Skills: Ability to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
● Technology Skills: Familiarity with or willingness to learn electronic diagnostic
software.
● Licenses: Valid driver’s license and independent transportation.
● Safety Certification: Pleasure Craft Operators Card (PCOC) required.
● Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements:
● Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
● Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
● Comfortable working in cramped or uncomfortable positions (kneeling, stooping,
twisting, etc.).

Compensation Benefits:
● Pay Range: $20.00 – $40.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications).
● Employment Type: Full-time seasonal apprenticeship positions available, with
opportunities for year-round employment.
● Language Requirement: English (Required).
