Job Description

GEE Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our client’s team. This role is ideal for a hands-on problem solver with a passion for optimizing manufacturing processes, implementing new equipment, and driving continuous improvement in an automotive production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of new equipment from design and specification approval to fabrication, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Evaluate and integrate manufacturing equipment, machinery, and tooling for automotive parts production.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Collaborate with vendors, oversee project performance, and manage sourcing activities—including international travel.
  • Oversee the implementation of complex equipment, including robotics, PC, and PLC systems.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to resolve production challenges and improve operations.
  • Balance hands-on implementation (40%) with project/vendor management (50%) and additional responsibilities (10%).
  • Perform process FMEA studies to incorporate necessary countermeasures into equipment specifications.
  • Provide capacity studies and cost evaluations for financial planning and quoting.
  • Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure a safe and efficient production environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and industry-standard software applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
  • Advanced knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to travel, including internationally, for vendor management and sourcing activities.
