MISSION The Salvation Army Wonderland Camp and Conference Center exists to support the ministry of the Salvation Army by providing the opportunity to experience Christ through focused programs in a natural, safe, camp conference environment.
OUTCOMES Maintains flower beds and grounds on camp.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Maintaining the flowerbeds in good condition (watering, weeding, hoeing, preparing soil.)
- Assist in trimming shrubs and maintaining grounds around shrubs and buildings
- Assist in maintaining grounds in a clean and attractive condition
- Be responsible for maintaining trade tools (cleaning and location).
- Assist the Maintenance Supervisor and Groundskeeper with other assigned duties.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.
In contacts related to this position's duties, this individual acts as a representative of The Salvation Army and its mission.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS This individual will be evaluated on how effectively the outcomes of this position are achieved, as well as the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of accomplishing assigned goals.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE - High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum age of 19 years old.
COMPENTENCIES - Experience in general grounds and flower garden work.
- Desire to work out of doors in lawn and garden work.
- Ability to accept authority and responsibility.
- In agreement with the philosophy, goals and objective of The Salvation Army Wonderland Camp and Conference Center.
- Supportive of the mission of The Salvation Army.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT - This position is required to do light physical work.
- In order to successfully perform the essential functions of this position the employee is regularly required to use general garden or grounds equipment.
- The employee is frequently required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouch. May operate a camp vehicle.
- Must be able to lift or move 50lbs.
- The work environment for this position includes an outdoor environment with a moderate noise level.
