Our client, a prestigious private banking institution with a global presence, is seeking an experienced Finance Director to join their leadership team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive financial strategy and performance in the dynamic world of private banking and wealth management.
The Finance Director will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the private banking division, providing strategic financial leadership, and ensuring the bank's financial health and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires a deep understanding of the private banking sector, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for senior management.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the bank's overall business objectives
Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for the private banking division
Oversee financial reporting, including the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Manage the division's capital and liquidity positions in compliance with regulatory requirements
Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making on new products, services, and markets
Lead pricing strategies for private banking products and services
Oversee the financial aspects of client portfolios and investment performance reporting
Manage relationships with external auditors, regulators, and other financial stakeholders
Develop and maintain robust financial controls and risk management processes
Lead and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
Collaborate with other departments to drive operational efficiencies and cost management initiatives
Participate in mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives from a financial perspective
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
Professional qualification such as CPA, CA, CFA, or equivalent
10+ years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in senior roles within the banking or financial services sector
Strong knowledge of private banking regulations, Basel III requirements, and international accounting standards (IFRS and US GAAP)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into strategic insights
Strong leadership and communication abilities, with experience managing cross-functional teams
Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analytics tools
Solid understanding of wealth management products and services
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in multiple areas of banking (e.g., retail, commercial, investment banking)
Knowledge of fintech innovations and their impact on private banking
Multilingual capabilities
Experience with digital transformation initiatives in finance
