Construction / Project Accountant
Oak Brook, IL | Hybrid
$90,000 to $110,000 + Bonus/Benefits

Our client in Oak Brook is seeking a Construction / Project Accountant to oversee the financial aspects of multiple active development projects. This position will focus on managing draw requests, reviewing vendor payments, monitoring project cash flow, and ensuring financial accuracy throughout the construction lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Record and manage draw requests, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation for each project
• Review, code, and classify vendor payments in Yardi in alignment with project budgets
• Monitor cash flow activity and project expenditures, identifying potential variances or shortfalls
• Reconcile project accounts and prepare monthly reporting, including budget-to-actual and cash flow summaries
• Partner with construction managers, development teams, and property accounting to ensure smooth financial operations
• Serve as a primary accounting contact for active construction projects, providing timely financial updates to internal stakeholders

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction accounting experience required
• Hands-on experience with Yardi is a must
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and project-based financial management
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
