Description Summary:
Assists the Director of Compliance in implementing and monitoring systems and practices that create a culture of NCAA compliance and integrity. The Assistant Director of Compliance manages the daily operations of an NCAA Division I Athletic Department Compliance Program and also educates student-athletes, coaches, and athletic personnel on NCAA rules and regulations.
Examples of Duties Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Educates, monitors, and enforces NCAA and SWAC rules and regulations.
- Monitors and reviews NCAA, SWAC, and institutional paperwork in terms of student-athlete initial eligibility and certification.
- Initiates NCAA certification process for student-athletes.
- Conducts NCAA Rules Education Program.
- Reviews and determines status of students-athletes in regards to financial aid, amateurism, recruitment, eligibility, and certification.
- Monitors squad lists, athletic scholarships limits, student-athlete employment, recruiting, camps and clinics, countable activity logs, declaration of seasons, and participation reports.
- Reviews documentation related to practice and playing season for each sport.
- Conducts exit interviews and distribution of Special Assistance Fund.
- Prepares NLI and Athletic Grant-in-Aid Agreements.
- Contributes to the overall success of the athletics department by performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Compliance and/or their designee.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications Minimum Position Requirements (including years of experience, certifications, licenses, etc.):
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
Experience: Three (3) years of specific athletic compliance experience at a Division I institution
Proficiency with CAi, LSDBi, NCAA Eligibility Center, National Letter of Intent Program and automated compliance software (ARMS, ACS, etc.)
