WGVU’s Emmy award winning television series Mutually Inclusive is searching for a digital/social media producer to engage viewers. Mutually Inclusive elevates the voices in our community who are working to create change. Each 30-minute episode explores historically underrepresented subjects within our West Michigan landscape, partnering with our neighbors to shape truthful narratives. Responsibilities include working with the WGVU Content team to plan and create original social/digital media video and images, creating short-form content from existing episodes of Mutually Inclusive for use on social media, attending field shoots to capture social/digital media video and behind the scenes content, crafting written copy for post captions and online publications, and other duties as assigned. Required knowledge and skills include experience with different social media platforms and knowledge of best practices, proficiency in video editing with Premiere Pro and/or Final Cut Pro, ability to craft original social media copy, comfort working independently and in teams, being a proactive and adaptive learner, and having a flexible schedule during the week from 8am to 5pm with some night/weekend work and occasional work from home. Working conditions include a normal office environment with flexible work hours Monday through Friday, in office preferred, and remote work options available. Transportation to shoots is provided; mileage and meals are reimbursable if needed. Internship credit is available.
