SabalCare is seeking a travel nurse RN Neuro ICU for a travel nursing job in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Job Description & Requirements

Patient Diagnoses:

Stroke, Seizures, Subdural Hematoma, Brain Tumor, Neurosurgical Intervention, Neuromuscular disorders, Post Arrest

Special Procedures/Unit Details:

Post procedure monitoring ( TPA, Thrombectomy , Pipeline Stent, Cerebral Aneurysm Coiling or Clipping), etc.

Bedside procedures include: intubation, arterial and central line placement, EVD, etc. Post procedural monitoring of clipping and/or coiling of aneurysms, post craniotomy , TPA or Tenectaplase administration monitoring

Special Equipment:

BIS, TOF, Arctic Sun, EEG, FloTrac, A-line, Central Line, Zoll Intravascular Cooling, Bolt, EVD, Camino ICP

Patient Ratio: 1:2

Float requirement

EPIC experience required

Unit does not accept first time travelers

2 years min ICU experience

Preferred Certifications:

ACLS, BCLS, NIH

Must be able to interpret and manage dysrhythmias, manage multi-system organ failure

Must be able to follow IV insulin protocols

Management of continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation administration, titrate cardiac drips, and titrate vasoactive drips

Ventilator management
