The Adult Admission Inpatient Unit functions as an emergency holding unit directly connected to the ER, accepting admitted patients and initiating inpatient care until beds are available. The unit demands strong time management and adaptability due to frequent patient admissions and transfers. Nurses are required to monitor and interpret telemetry, manage multiple types of medical equipment, and handle high patient turnover. Staffing ratios are 1:4-5, with 17 beds and up to 8 hall beds. Candidates must float to ED, ICU (SAC), and PCU areas when needed. No locals within 75 miles.
