POSITION SUMMARY:

An Associate Engineer has a minimum of one year of some type of work experience with a proven ability to work without close supervision to complete routine projects and job orders as well as some large projects. This person may assist in construction, customer, utility, contractor, and governmental agency coordination. Engineering college graduates will begin their training in this category in order to gain knowledge of installation and engineering techniques.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Complete outside plant engineering/fiber optic design per customer specifications
• Perform field visits, where needed, to gather releveant design information
• Create and/or coordinate the creation of invoicing and job submission packages
• Work effectively with a team of drafting and design professionals, and able to positively interact with team members across functions
• Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• None

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering is required
• Some training in OSP engineering methods and procedures is helpful
• Proven ability and willingness to learn changing technology and processes
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES may include:

• Assigned dollar level of billable core business or approved alternative business
• Gross Margin target
• Due dates met
• Customer Satisfaction / Quality score
• Accuracy of business forecast
