Job Description

Are you a passionate and dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)? We are looking for an enthusiastic professional to join our team in a remote capacity, providing support to students in Washington State. In this role, you will work with students who are blind or have limited vision, using a virtual platform designed to facilitate effective communication and learning. We're seeking someone who is proficient in delivering services online and dedicated to adapting educational strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of students with visual impairments.
Provide specialized instruction in areas such as braille, orientation and mobility, assistive technology, and adaptive techniques.
Advocate for students' needs within the school environment, ensuring they have access to necessary resources and support.
Offer guidance and assistance to students and their families, helping them navigate educational programs and community resources.
Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to support each student's learning goals.

Qualifications:

Master's Degree or higher in Special Education, Visual Impairments, or a related field.
Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate.
At least two years of recent experience working with students with visual impairments (preferred).
Strong proficiency in virtual teaching platforms and adaptive learning technologies.
