• Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech:

• The Certified Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting the surgeon in the sterile field according to AORN Standards of Practice Recommendations.
• Performs scrub duties in varied specialties/procedures.
• Ensures that the case has the necessary sterile supplies and equipment for that surgeon and procedure.
• Assists with Circulating duties under the direct supervision of the RN circulator assigned to the patient.
• Ensure adherence to Hospital, State, and departmental policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCCT – Certification.
• Annually complete 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified to practice as a surgical technologist in the State of NJ.

• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• High School or GED equivalent 
• Graduate of Surgical Technologist Program.
• Minimum of one (1) year as a Certified Surgical Technologist.

Pay Range Minimum: $24.37

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
