An community hospital is searching for a strong, experienced Surgical Services Nurse Manager to lead this tenured department in the beautiful rural area in Colorado.
The Surgical Services Unit features 4 ORs and 2 procedure rooms, efficiently managed by a dedicated team of 38 FTEs. This multi-specialty facility is predominantly heavy in orthopedic cases. Experience with additional specialties such as dental, plastics, ENT, pain management, urology, general surgery, spine, pediatrics, and cataract procedures is also essential for optimal operational performance. The diverse range of specialties ensures dynamic and challenging experiences for the team, enhancing the overall quality of care provided.
The Surgical Services Nurse Manager is expected to have knowledge on the principles and practices of Preoperative Nursing and Patient Care. The Manager will be responsible for serving as a role model, initiator in problem-solving, decision-making processes, delegating, and communicating information to the nursing staff. The Surgical Services Nurse Manager will develop clear performance expectations and resolve performance problems. In addition to these aspects, the Manager will also help develop and maintain the departmental budget, as well as regulatory compliance.
