Location: On-Site – Leominster, MA Relocation Required: Candidates located outside the region must be willing to relocate. Position Overview We are seeking a Materials Manager to lead and optimize the full spectrum of materials operations, including procurement, logistics, inventory management, and warehouse coordination. This is a critical, on-site role that ensures material readiness, supports production continuity, and drives continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Procurement & Vendor Management Manage purchasing activities, including vendor selection, price negotiation, and purchase order processing Maintain detailed and accurate records of pricing, vendor performance, and procurement history Partner with internal departments to identify cost savings and execute cost-reduction strategies Import/Export & Logistics Oversee import/export operations, ensuring compliance with trade regulations, tariffs, and taxes Coordinate with carriers to ensure on-time, accurate delivery of goods Expedite urgent orders to meet production or customer deadlines Warehouse & Inventory Oversight Supervise shipping, receiving, and stockroom operations for accuracy and efficiency Support hands-on tasks such as picking, packing, and receiving when needed Monitor safety stock and usage trends to maintain just-in-time inventory levels Leadership & Collaboration Lead, mentor, and develop warehouse, logistics, and purchasing team members Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Planning teams to ensure material readiness Participate in production planning meetings to provide delivery updates and resolve material-related bottlenecks Quality & Process Improvement Investigate defective materials and coordinate corrective actions with vendors Stay current on industry trends and technologies to enhance material handling and efficiency Drive process improvement initiatives across procurement and logistics functions Other Responsibilities Perform additional duties as required to support the overall materials management function Required Qualifications (Must-Haves) 5+ years of experience in materials management within a manufacturing environment (covering procurement through shipping) Strong understanding of import/export regulations, tariffs, and taxes Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems Previous experience in people management or team leadership Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed Benefits Paid Vacation, PTO, and Holidays Medical, Dental, Vision coverage with HSA/FSA options 401(k) with company matching Life and Disability Insurance Profit Sharing Plan Supportive environment with career development opportunities If you're a hands-on leader who thrives in logistics and materials management and you're ready to make an impact in a manufacturing-driven operation, we encourage you to apply today.
