Description The WELL Recreation Center on the campus of Sac State is seeking to hire two students to supervise day to day events at Intramural Sports sites. The Event Supervisors officiates sports as well as manages sports officials, participants and the program sites.
Requirements Conditions of Employment This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause.
UEI does not allow employees to hold more than one UEI Job at a time, or work in more than one college or center per pay period. UEI employees who are considering leaving their current UEI Student assistant position for a different UEI student assistant position should inform their supervisor in writing and provide at least a week's notice.

Prerequisites Students working at the University Union or The WELL must be attending classes at Sacramento State during the regular term (Fall, Spring), and enrolled in a minimum of nine (9) semester units for undergraduate students or six (6) semester units for graduate students.

Work Schedule Shifts available Sunday-Friday. Schedule varies.
Additional Work Schedule Student Assistant and Graduate Assistant employees generally work up to 20 hours per work week (Sunday - Friday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per work week during breaks; (winter, spring & summer).
Compensation $17.25 per hour
Minimum Qualifications - Desire to work as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate verbally and written.
- Ability to follow directions.
- CPR and First Aid Certified (or able to get certification within 60 days of hire).
Preferred Qualifications - Passion for sports.
- Experience with intramural administrative policies.
- One semester (or four-month season) of previous officiating experience.
Duties and Responsibilities - Work on a daily and nightly basis supervising the intramural sports virtual and in-person contest and events.
- Officiate Intramural sporting contests.
- Work closely with intramural program supervisors to plan and organize all officiating training materials and agendas.
- Ensure participants observe program rules and regulations regarding risk management, safety, sportsmanship, and policies and procedures.
- Disseminate officiating assignments for the daily and nightly contests.
- Work closely with intramural program supervisors to organize all necessary equipment and sports gear on a daily basis.
- Ensure the proper usage of the intramural sports gear during participation in intramural contests and/or events.
- Determine player eligibility on-site and maintain knowledge of roster rules and regulations.
- Assist intramural lead officials with evaluating a contest's governing officials' performance.
- Work with the Building Supervisor and perform necessary First Aid and CPR whenever needed.
- Work with the Building Supervisor on duty to fill out incident and injury reports for intramural contests and events whenever necessary.
- Periodically assist with marketing and promotion efforts for the Intramural Sports program.
- Exercise tact, good customer service, and courtesy even when adversity arises.
- Complete nightly contest reports to include staffing hours, contest results, and employee praise/issues that may have occurred.
- Attend all Intramural Staff meetings and appropriate training clinics and practical clinics.
- Uphold all intramural policies when applicable.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, and scanners with or without a reasonable accommodation.
