Job Description

The Structural Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the plant, ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining quality standards, and managing plant personnel. The role involves strategic planning, resource management, and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize productivity and profitability while adhering to safety and environmental regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Oversee the daily operations of the plant to ensure efficient and effective production.

  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet business goals and customer demands.

  • Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed to address issues and maintain product quality.

  • Recruit, train, and manage plant staff, ensuring a skilled and motivated workforce.

  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to employees.

  • Foster a positive work environment and encourage teamwork and professional development.

  • Ensure that all products meet quality standards and customer specifications.

  • Implement and maintain quality control systems and procedures.

  • Address and resolve any quality issues promptly.

  • Enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions.

  • Manage plant budgets and control costs to maximize profitability.

  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of plant equipment and facilities.

  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.

  • Lead lean manufacturing and other continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Monitor industry trends and adopt best practices.

  • Develop and execute long-term strategies to support business growth and sustainability.

  • Collaborate with senior management to align plant operations with overall company goals.

  • Prepare and present operational reports and performance metrics to senior management.

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in plant management or a similar role in the manufacturing industry.

  • Strong knowledge of production management, quality control, and safety regulations.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Proficient in using production management software and other relevant computer applications.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing, walking, and moving around the plant.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30lbs pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • This position typically works in a manufacturing plant setting.

  • Exposure to noise, dust, and other elements associated with a production environment.
