Our Jacksonville, FL office is actively searching for a Marine Structural Engineer with hands-on experience in the design, analysis, and implementation of marine structures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering principles, and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions in the marine and offshore industry. You will work on marine projects supporting the United States Navy, private clients, and local municipalities. Conduct structural analysis and design for marine and offshore structures, including but not limited to piers, wharves, bulkheads, and mooring and berthing systems Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and efficient engineering solutions Prepare detailed engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports Perform site visits and inspections to assess structural conditions and provide recommendations Utilize industry-standard software and tools for structural analysis and modeling Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations Other duties: Please note this job posting is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master’s degree is a plus 4 to 6 years of experience in structural engineering design with a minimum of 1 years in waterfront engineering Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license is strongly preferred and must be obtained within 12 months of hire Proficient in structural analysis software such as MathCAD, SAP2000, SupportIT, or similar Strong knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., API, AISC, ACI) Availability to occasionally travel to Moffatt & Nichol's Tampa office will be required Due to client parameters, selected candidate must show (post offer) proof of U.S. citizenship Eligibility to successfully pass background check to secure Department of Defense DBIDS card and other badges required by clients Possession of or eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171 Moffatt & Nichol uses E-Verify and employment is contingent upon the legal ability to obtain employment in the U.S. and to present the required documentation at hire Physical requirements: Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment. Some travel required to work with other offices as part of large project teams or to project site in different locations than the candidate’s assigned office.
