Job Summary

The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks to support the month-end close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records and supports compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and payroll allocations.

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly and investigate variances.

• Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely financial reporting.

• Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring proper classification of transactions.

• Prepare financial statements, supporting schedules, and audit documentation as needed.

• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions as assigned.

• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

• Identify and recommend process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

• 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience.

• Strong understanding of GAAP and basic financial principles.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle).

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
