The Sr. Mortgage Loan Officer contributes to making the home buying process seamless for our members by collaborating with our mortgage team. You will utilize excellent communication and active listening skills to assist our members in navigating through the mortgage process. Additionally, they assist the members with determining the best product available with a multitude of mortgage options available to them.
This position will be based out of the Jeffersonville / Clarksville / New Albany area and can serve our entire field of membership.
What you'll do:
- Communicate with members in defining their home buying needs and work to place them in the best product.
- Continuing communication with the member throughout the process.
- Advise members of loan approval or denial. Explain loan denials precisely and clearly to members.
- Interview, take applications, and process preliminary documentation on loan requests.
- Establishes calling schedule to track mortgage business origination.
- Meet monthly production goals.
- Manage deadlines.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Three to Five years of previous mortgage origination experience.
- Five to Seven years in outside sales.
- NMLS (National Mortgage Licensing System) License or the ability to obtain one.
- Ability to manage many open mortgage loans in process at the same time.
- Understanding the foundation of determining credit worthiness.
- Financial institution lending regulations as they relate to mortgages.
- Familiarity with title reports, insurance and appraisals, and knowledge of secondary mortgage lending requirements.
- Excellent communication and public relations skills a must.
