Job Title Sr Java Software Engineer, Back-end What does a successful Sr. Java Software Engineer do at Fiserv? Are you an experienced and hardworking Senior Java Software Engineer looking to join a dynamic and innovative product development team? At Fiserv, we build, design, and love all things related to our software products. Our engineers work in highly collaborative product teams to deliver high-value features rapidly for our customers. Join us to grow your skills and make an impact! What You Will Do: Lead Java back-end development, creating robust and efficient solutions. Participate in design and code reviews, contributing to the quality of our codebase. Mentor junior engineers, guiding them to grow and succeed. Apply DevOps and Agile principles, actively participating in Scrum events to keep projects on track. Analyze, design, and develop software solutions, following engineering best practices. Identify and solve technical issues, enhancing software performance and automation. Implement automated unit and integration tests to ensure software reliability. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, streamlining our integration and deployment processes. What you will need to have: Bachelor's Degree (preferably Computer Science or Engineering) or equivalent combination of experience, education and military. 6+ years of experience in designing, developing, delivering, and supporting software applications. 6+ years of experience with modern programming and scripting languages (Java/Spring Boot). 6+ years of experience with datastores and database queries. Experience working with DevOps, CI/CD, GitOps, and Agile methodologies. Experience with using Git to manage changes to the codebase, including branching and merging practices. What would be great to have: Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation, particularly with GitLab CI. Familiarity with Docker for building images. Understanding of microservices architecture and cloud-native software development. Foundational knowledge of Kubernetes and Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks like Helm. Exposure to AWS Cloud Services, with AWS certification being a plus. Important info about this role: We’re better together. This role is fully on-site.
