Job Description

Job Title: Special Events Coordinator

Job Summary: Vera Lloyd Presbyterian Family Services, a leader in providing therapeutic care services to children, youth and families seeks a Special Events Coordinator. The position is based in Little Rock and is a member of the Development staff. Salary range is $45,000-$55,000, depending on experience, plus an excellent benefits package. This position requires some travel and evening and weekend work.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Manage, coordinate and implement all aspects of assigned fundraising events or special projects, including but not limited to Garden Party, Fish Fry and Christmas for Kids.

2. Manages, evaluates and expands fundraising events under the direction of the Director of Development and CEO.

3. Responsible for maintaining accurate and complete financial records for each event. 4. Acts as cross-departmental liaison, as it relates to event planning and execution, including events and activities on the Monticello campus. 5. Creates, maintains and distributes all event related marketing materials, such as invitations, sponsor packets, tickets and programs. 6. Recruits, interfaces and serves as a liaison for event volunteers

7. Plans, organizes and implements marketing and media outreach for all events

8. Assists in organizing and maintaining event inventory

9. Assists with speaking engagements around the state.

10. Database Management

11. Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement related activities and initiatives.

12. Other duties as assigned.

Essential job functions: Duties 1-12 are designated as ADA essential functions and must be performed in this job. All other job duties are secondary functions.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree

2. Two years of experience coordinating special events required

3. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign

4. Competent in use of social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram

5. Experience in nonprofit fundraising, preferred

2. Successfully passes pre-employment drug screenings and DHS background checks.

3. Ability to travel and work a limited number of nights and weekends.

4. Possess a valid driver’s license.

5. This position will have a ninety-day probation period.

6. This position description will be reviewed annually as part of an annual performance evaluation.

7. Regular and consistent attendance is a condition of continuing employment.
