Job Description

As part of the AWS Solutions organization, we have a vision to provide business applications, leveraging Amazon’s unique experience and expertise, that are used by millions of companies worldwide to manage day-to-day operations. We will accomplish this by accelerating our customers’ businesses through delivery of intuitive and differentiated technology solutions that solve enduring business challenges. We blend vision with curiosity and Amazon’s real-world experience to build opinionated, turnkey solutions. Where customers prefer to buy over build, we become their trusted partner with solutions that are no-brainers to buy and easy to use.

Join the AWS Industry Products Healthcare & Life Science (HCLS) team! Our mission is to transform healthcare through patient-centric products that accelerate the shift to precision healthcare. We collaborate closely with industry leaders to tackle the toughest and most impactful issues faced by healthcare and life science sectors.

AWS Industry Products (AIP) is chartered to build groundbreaking AWS products by applying Amazon’s innovation mechanisms and the power of AWS digital technologies to real world industry problems. With AIP, AWS dives deep with industry leaders to solve problems and unblock these industries, enabling them to capitalize on new digital business models. By using the skill and scale of AWS, AIP makes the benefits of a connected world achievable for all businesses.

We are currently looking for a Sr. Software Development Engineer to join our Healthcare & Life Science (HCLS) team within AIP. If you're driven by customer-centric innovation and aspire to reshape healthcare and life science from research and clinical trials to delivery, this role is your opportunity to make a significant impact.

Key job responsibilities
As a Sr. Software Development Engineer, you will have impact on everything from the functionality we deliver for our customers, to the design and architecture of our systems, to the algorithms we employ, and to the culture we build. You will work closely with experienced leaders and engineers to develop new features and solutions that solve broader industry challenges. Some of the things you will do:

- Collaborate with teammates, other AWS Service teams and HCLS customers to understand their workflows and digital needs.
- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain software as part of our new AWS service
- Follow best practices in software development, Agile and DevOps methodologies and keep abreast of emerging technologies.
- Mentor and grow other engineers.

About the team
The AWS Industry Products (AIP) Healthcare and Life Science team collaborates with strategic customers to build transformative products that drive real-world impact at AWS scale. We are a team of innovators with a passion for tackling difficult problems. We aren’t interested in incremental improvements. We want to transform the healthcare and life sciences industries to reduce the barriers to access and make care delivery more efficient and effective. We operate in a start-up like environment, deliver via fast iterations, and partner with leading healthcare and life sciences organizations to improve the lives of patients and clinicians.

Why AWS
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. We pioneered cloud computing and never stopped innovating — that’s why customers from the most successful startups to Global 500 companies trust our robust suite of products and services to power their businesses.
Diverse Experiences
Amazon values diverse experiences. Even if you do not meet all of the preferred qualifications and skills listed in the job description, we encourage candidates to apply. If your career is just starting, hasn’t followed a traditional path, or includes alternative experiences, don’t let it stop you from applying.
Work/Life Balance
We value work-life harmony. Achieving success at work should never come at the expense of sacrifices at home, which is why we strive for flexibility as part of our working culture. When we feel supported in the workplace and at home, there’s nothing we can’t achieve in the cloud.
Inclusive Team Culture
Here at AWS, it’s in our nature to learn and be curious. Our employee-led affinity groups foster a culture of inclusion that empower us to be proud of our differences.
