A local South Orange County electronics manufacturer is seeking an SMT Operator to join their growing team. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity with pay ranging from $23 to $25/hour, based on experience. The hours are Monday through Friday, 5am to 1:30pm. Once hired, there's a competitive employee benefits package, including a bonus, health plan, and matching 401K.

SMT Operator Responsibilities:

• Set up machines: screen printer, Pick & Place, and reflow oven
• Process control and operator level of preventative maintenance of the above equipment
• Perform loading and unloading to and from machine independently
• Set up feeder to machine per set up
• Perform the simple machine change over
• Identify the basic SMT components
• Set up SMT parts to correct feeder
• Make sure all process tools, stencils or fixtures are in house before starting the set-up process
• Touch up soldering and repair work of defects generated by the machine
• Checking machinery to ensure they are operated in a safe manner
• Alert supervisory and maintenance colleagues regarding necessary equipment repairs
• Ensure assembled product meets compliance standards
• Work closely with SMT process engineer
• Other various tasks as needed to support customer requirements and production schedule

SMT Operator Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years’ experience with SMT and through-hole assembly
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience as an SMT operator
• Prior contract manufacturing experience is a plus
• Electronic SMT machine assembly experience
• Experience with component packages
• Ability to read set up lists
• Knowledge of electronic components
• Knowledge of machine operation of Tape and Reel and feeder loading
• Good understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM) and Assembly Drawings
• Fluent with SMT Package sizes and component identification
• Computer skills a must • Mechanical skills an asset
• Comply with general and machine safety requirements
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work on multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment
• Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others
