About the Role

We’re hiring a Senior Water Resource Project Manager on behalf of our client, a well-respected civil engineering design firm with a strong regional reputation. This role is ideal for someone who is technically skilled, highly organized, and passionate about leading impactful stormwater and floodplain projects within a collaborative, high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and management of stormwater infrastructure, floodplain modeling, and dam safety permitting projects.
• Oversee construction inspections and administration, ensuring technical accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Manage hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using tools such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY-8, and Flowmaster.
• Mentor junior engineers, supervise team members, and foster professional development.
• Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality, timely project outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

• 6+ years of experience in water resources or civil engineering
• Proven expertise in stormwater, floodplain modeling, and dam safety permitting
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Virginia (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and H&H modeling software (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY-8)
