Senior Staff Accountant - Annapolis, MD

• CFS is partnering with a repeat client, a non-profit organization in business for 50+ years!
• Due to significant growth, they are looking to bring on a Senior Staff Accountant to work on a contract-to-hire basis
• Schedule: 8:30am-4:30pm M-F, 100% in office in Annapolis, MD. Hours can be flexible depending on the candidate's needs
• Reports directly to the CFO (who was placed by CFS!)
• Salary $70,000 - $80,000 depending on experience
• Start date: June 2025

Job Duties of the Senior Staff Accountant:

• Maintain assigned general ledger accounts
• Perform bank reconciliations monthly and handles inquiries from banks
• Reconcile AP and payroll
• Verify accounts payable invoices are paid and ensure payments are charged to the proper accounts
• Set-up and maintain accounting files such A/P file, A/R files, grant files
• Assist auditors by gathering necessary documents in order to complete the annual audit
• Assist with payroll processing as needed
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications for the Senior Staff Accountant:

• 3+ years of accounting experience required
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field highly preferred
• Non-profit accounting experience highly preferred
• Experience using Sage Intacct a plus
• Proficient Excel skills required
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Knowledge of general financial and grant accounting
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
