Job Description: At GDIT, people are our differentiator. We are seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to join our team to support activities for a variety of GDIT security contracts. As a security analyst, you will work with a team of scrutinize network and system security for efficacy. This effort includes evaluating security safeguards designed to minimize the security risk and protect confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data, including privacy information.
This is a position is part of a security team responsible for evaluating and ensuring a high security posture for critical federal information systems. Our team's security responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing IT security strategy and architecture; evaluating security operations, monitoring, risk management processes, potential system weaknesses, security documentation, system roles and access; and validating enforcement of Federal and organizational policies.
This position allows the opportunity to work 100% remote from home preferably in Eastern or Central time zones. Those local to the Falls Church VA area will have opportunity to come into our office as needed.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Provide assessment and oversight of security programs, auditing implemented policies, processes, and technical implementations.
- Draft documentation to detail potential risks associated with known security issues within the environment.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to security tasking.
- Coordinate and collaborate with technical subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure technical and operational security controls are operating as expected.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Bachelor's degree and 8+ years' experience (degree preferably in Cyber Security or Information Technology), or equivalent combination of education and experience. Relevant system or application administration experience may be counted in lieu of cyber or information security experience.
- CISSP, CISA, or CISM certification. Other equivalent security certifications will be considered.
- Knowledge of security and system administration such as file integrity, malware detection, network- and host-based intrusions, system hardening, vulnerability management, etc.
- Ability to independently investigate security events as potential security incidents.
- Knowledge of the CISA Zero Trust Maturity Model.
- Knowledge of NIST Special Publications and cybersecurity best practices.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity audits and ability to respond to data requests regarding security compliance.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability and comfort level to conduct presentations for existing customer audiences.
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU ALSO HAD:
- Experience working federal contracts in the healthcare field.
- Knowledge of Linux and/or Windows system administration.
- Knowledge of common network administration tasks and capabilities.

The likely salary range for this position is $123,250 - $166,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
