Job Description
Baker is seeking an experienced full-stack JavaScript developer to support the growth of our product. This role reports directly to the VP of Engineering and involves owning and advancing our client-facing products.
Responsibilities :
- Maintain the Node.js-backed platform codebase, utilizing MVC frameworks
- Manage and optimize MySQL and Postgres databases
- Research and develop innovative technologies and frameworks to enhance the core platform
- Collaborate with various teams to integrate backend systems with current and future products
Requirements :
- Positive attitude towards cannabis products and industries
- At least 2 years of credited experience as a senior engineer
- Advanced knowledge of Node.js frameworks
- Proficiency in relational database management systems such as MySQL or Postgres
- Strong understanding of modern HTML/CSS practices
- Experience in API design and development
- Understanding of continuous integration (CI) practices and testing disciplines
- Familiarity with AWS systems and services at a high level
Preferred :
- Experience with other programming languages such as JavaScript, PHP, Python, Java, Ruby on Rails, etc.
- Knowledge of AWS services like ElasticSearch, ElasticCache, Lambda, API Gateway, etc.
- Previous experience in the cannabis industry, including technology, agriculture, infrastructure, or retail sectors
- Understanding of high-availability (HA) coding practices and strategies

Salary range of $100,000 - $150,000 plus equity, depending on experience
