Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Jira Administrator to provide remote support, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades for Jira and its associated integrations. In this role, you will ensure that Jira continues to run smoothly, supporting both internal teams and external integrations such as GitHub and Bamboo. You will also have the opportunity to share your expertise through training, documentation, and mentorship to help guide internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide ongoing maintenance and support for Jira, including troubleshooting issues and performing updates/upgrades.
Manage the administration and configuration of Jira, as well as integrations with external applications such as GitHub and Bamboo, and third-party tools from the Atlassian Marketplace.
Work closely with internal teams to identify, research, and resolve system, program, or data issues.
Provide training and technical knowledge transfer to team members, including documentation, mentorship, and guidance on requested work.
Required Skills and Experience: The following expertise and experience are essential for success in this role:
Proven experience upgrading multi-node data center instances (minimum version 9.x).
Experience with updating Jira configuration files such as setenv.sh, server.xml, web.xml, application-properties, and dbconfiguration.
Strong skills in Bash scripting and maintaining CRON table entries.
Experience in creating and updating Groovy scripts for Jira.
Proficiency in using the RHEL command line.
Hands-on experience monitoring clustered nodes, troubleshooting, and collaborating with Atlassian support when necessary.
Strong understanding of TSQL and experience with the creation and modification of SQL Server database objects, including stored procedures, views, and tables.
Experience with Jira project configuration, including creating and managing customized workflows, post-functions, custom listeners, custom events, and complex work item security schemes.
Proficiency in writing JQL (Jira Query Language), including advanced functions.
Desirable Skills and Experience: While not required, the following skills and experience are highly preferred:
Jira Administrator certification.
Experience with Jira API setup and usage.
Familiarity with configuring external application integrations such as GitHub and Bamboo, as well as third-party Atlassian Marketplace applications.
Experience with AD/LDAP connection and configuration.
Knowledge of HTML and JavaScript.
Familiarity with Structure for Jira and Zephyr for Jira (Zephyr Squad and/or Zephyr Scale).
Basic understanding of load balancing and networking concepts.
