Job Description
Job Summary: We are seeking a Safety Manager to oversee all health and safety policies and procedures at our Eminence, KY location. The Safety Manager will ensure that all employees adhere to safe working practices and will be responsible for a variety of related tasks.
Responsibilities: - Implement all safety and health policies and procedures.
- Conduct weekly safety audits with safety committee members and collaborate with Supervisors and Managers to ensure employee safety and regulatory compliance.
- Lead post-incident investigations.
- Attend and lead Safety Committee meetings.
- Follow up on all safety and health-related incidents, ensuring timely corrective actions are taken.
- Supervise and coordinate monthly safety training.
- Collaborate with Managers and Supervisors to oversee all safety and health issues.
- Exercise functional authority throughout the plant for health and safety issues.
- Oversee coordination and communication with all Hussey Copper employees regarding health and safety issues.
- Participate in continuous improvement programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to make decisive and sound judgments under pressure.
- High-level verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety.
- At least three years of experience managing or supervising a team in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft applications.
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
Physical Demands: - Regularly required to talk or listen.
- Frequently required to walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
