Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and meticulous Media Strategist to join our team! The ideal candidate will support the Media Strategy Marketing Manager in end-to-end media execution in conjunction with our media agency. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong analytical abilities and deep understanding of comprehensive media planning strategies and standard methodologies.
Location:
This role is approved to be either Remote within the United States or Hybrid for associates in Newport News, VA or Chico, CA, in accordance with company policy.
Responsibilities:
- Support Media Strategy Development : Understanding of marketing objectives and how to translate into a media approach plus strategy. Assist in the development and implementation of multi-channel media strategies for local and national media in alignment with Ferguson’s marketing objectives for multiple customer groups, supporting multiple target audiences across various media channels. Ability to present and develop media recommendations, performance recaps, share insights and process updates as needed.
- Campaign Coordination : Work with Marketing Manager and cross functional team to implement end to end media campaigns including creative requests, collaboration with Analytics to set up measurement solutions, handling internal requests and offering improvements to ways of working internally/externally.
- Content Collaboration: Liaison between Media Agency and Project Managers to ensure creative specs are clear, concise and delivered on time. Proof creative assets for continuity. Stay informed on best practices by media channel and present to internal partners.
- Budget Management Assistance : Partner with Media Agency’s Accounts Receivable team and Ferguson’s Marketing Finance/Accounting to ensure media invoices are processed. Track vendor and HQ funded budgets for local and national media. Follow through on internal billing checks and balances to ensure payments are delivered in accordance with billing statement dates and media plans are approved.
- Market Research/Audiences : Stay up to date on media trends, opportunities and insights to advise media planning. Use data-driven insights to identify and define target audiences. Work with internal teams to understand first party audience sizing and application.
- Measurement/Data Analysis: Monitor campaign reporting and provide actionable insights to optimize strategy of present and future campaigns. Support in performance recap development and measurement plan development.
- Relationship Management : Assist in handling relationships with internal and external partners to ensure effective collaboration and execution of media plans. Build and maintain strong relationships with key media partners and media agency as appropriate. Build and maintain strong internal relationships with cross functional teams to include Creative, Performance, Owned, Analytics, Marketing Business Partners and Field stakeholders.
- Tool Proficiency : Apply digital marketing tools and platforms to lead campaigns and analyze data, including Google Analytics and Microsoft Suite.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5-7 years in media strategy and planning with ideally experience across both client and agency side.
- Background across B2B & B2C, inclusive of vendor/co-op marketing.
- Experience developing well-rounded media campaigns that drive business results (experience across Market Mix Models, Brand Studies, critical metric development).
- Familiarity with planning across a full range of media channels, including but not limited to TV/streaming, online video, display, social, audio, outdoor, print both Locally and Nationally.
- Strong knowledge of the media landscape, the latest media trends and media consumption.
- Experience working with an in-house performance marketing team, along with cross-functional teams including but not limited to: owned media, creative, brand, analytics, marketing.
- Strong verbal and written skills.
- Self-starter with excellent project management capabilities.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
- Great teammate with a proactive demeanor and the ability to work both in group settings and independently.

Pay Range:
Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.
$4,124.70 – $6,783.70
Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
