Process Technology Engineer Springdale, PA

The Industrial Coatings Group is hiring a Process Technology Engineer to join our dynamic team in the Americas! This position resides at the Springdale, PA R&D facility within the Process Technology Engineering Group. You will be working with multiple sites to facilitate process technology deployment as well as support plants on operational and sustainability improvement initiatives. You will learn to excel in process improvement, business case development, and applying the latest process technology to optimize new and existing processes and facilities. In addition to operations support and continuous improvement, Process Technology Engineering collaborates closely with other teams in the region to support scale-up testing for new product development.
In this role you will have the opportunity to learn and work with multiple product portfolios across global sites. Six Sigma/Lean experience is encouraged, and there will be opportunities to pursue green or black belt level projects that support manufacturing sites driving cost, quality, and safety improvements.
You will work in a hybrid capacity in this role, splitting time on-site at the Springdale, PA facility and working remotely from your home. You will report to the Group Leader-Process Technology Engineering.
Responsibilities: - Apply engineering process subject matter expertise to the evaluation of new and existing processes.
- Work closely with site manufacturing engineers to implement new technologies and methods to improve existing processes.
- Drive safe, balanced, and innovative solutions to sites within the design work process to further increase the efficiency and predictability of capital projects.
- Develop business cases to justify funding of regional improvement projects
- Drive implementation of process improvement and process technology at sites
- Implement capital projects for expansion of capabilities within Springdale R&D
- Safely operate, prepare, and maintain select trial equipment in the Springdale site Process Technology and Process Analytical Technology labs.
- Learn process modeling tools and support site engineers with training in modeling tool use.
- Work alone and/or with team members to plan/coordinate/complete project tasks and assignments including the writing of summary reports.
- Learn and support introduction of process analytical technologies to manufacturing facilities.
- Manage projects to achieve best practice and return to standard work practices.
- Maintain/improve workplace organization(6S) and housekeeping.
- Apply basic engineering, troubleshooting, mechanical and chemistry skills for problem solving tasks in laboratory settings and in support of large-scale operations.
Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Required
- Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred
- Mechanical acuity preferred.
- 3+ years industry experience
- Travel in the USA up to 10% of the time
