Job Description

System One is seeking multiple Process Engineer’s in Coraopolis Pennsylvania for a direct hire opportunity. Overview: The Process Engineer will provide process engineering technical support to Operations, Maintenance, Facilities Engineering, and various corporate departments. This position is responsible for engineering activities that include identification and initiation of plant improvement projects, support of plant capital projects, technical support to production teams, resolution of technical regulatory issues, and development/presentation of technical training. The complexity of assignments will vary based on experience level, with more senior engineers handling increasingly complex projects requiring development of new or improved products/processes/techniques. Note: Multiple positions are available across various seniority levels with responsibilities and expectations commensurate with experience. Salary includes up to a 4-6% bonus with benefits and 401k match:

• Junior to Mid-Level: 2-4 years of experience - $89k - $95k
• Mid-Level: 5-7 years of experience - $99k-$106k
• Senior-Level: 8-10 years of experience - $110k - $118k

• Exhibit a high degree of cooperation/teamwork with multiple departments
• Demonstrate flexibility in work activities to support cross-functional department and position assignments
• Communicate opportunities for manufacturing improvement to management, develop justifications for projects and improvement initiatives, and carry out implementation of approved projects
• Develop technical proficiency in the manufacture of activated carbon and maintain current chemical engineering skills
• Seek out and develop new tools to advance and improve the company's engineering and carbon manufacturing processes
• Provide support to Facilities Engineering to develop and execute new projects
• Develop process flow diagrams, conceptual material and energy balances, and draft P&IDs to support business cases and capital appropriation requests
• Perform economic analysis of proposed projects and consider multiple alternatives before presenting proposals
• Work with outside engineering contractors to guide their efforts, answer technical questions, and ensure technical correctness of proposed solutions
• Collaborate with engineering contractors to develop detailed design documents based on conceptual work
• Verify equipment and process specifications and material/energy balances produced by outside engineering firms
• Work with internal Project Managers to ensure that projects will deliver on production, operability, and operating cost goals
• Provide engineering support to production plants as assigned
• Maintain good relationships with plant managers and operational/maintenance staff
• Identify opportunities for improvements in process economy, efficiency, and production rates
• Participate in cross-functional teams within the company and intercompany events and initiatives
• Work with plant management to seek opportunities for efficiency, cost, and quality improvements
• Initiate and obtain approval for cost reduction projects
• Coordinate and/or participate in the design, installation and start-up of new projects

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
• 2-10 years of experience in a plant environment (level dependent)
• Operations, Maintenance, Facilities Engineering experience to include, plant improvement projects, support of plant capital projects, technical support to production teams, resolution of technical regulatory.
• Travel to facilities regularly to understand processes and engineering needs
• Manufacturing development/optimization experience preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Willingness to travel to various facilities as needed
