Job Title: Prevention SpecialistLocation: Poplar Bluff, Mo.Department: Recovery ServicesEmployment Type: Part-timeJob Summary:The incumbent of this position is responsible for serving as the primary source for technical assistance support, related to substance use prevention, for community coalitions to facilitate the development of community coalitions capable of making changes in substance use patterns in their community.The Prevention Specialist position offers a workplace culture cultivating employee wellbeing, valuing each individual's humanity, and actively promoting healthy, joyful workforce engagement.Key Responsibilities:- Serve as the point of contact for members of community-based coalitions, teams, and task forces in the assigned geographic area.- Provide information to coalitions about substance use prevention programs and resources.- Offer technical assistance and training resources to the coalitions to enhance their ability to prevent substance use.- Be responsive to requests for prevention services and information throughout the counties within the geographic area.- Assist with the creation of yearly community needs assessments and coalition needs assessments.- Contribute to the development and updating of the Strategic Work Plan.- Assist with planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Strategic Work Plan strategies.- Participate in the Statewide Prevention Training and Resource Network.- Prepare and submit monthly progress, billing percentage, Minimum Data Set (MDS), and Mental Health First Aid Update reports to the C2000 Prevention Coordinator.- Assist with the development of a final annual report based on the previous year’s Strategic Work Plan.- Participate in the development of Quality Improvement Indicators and quarterly reports.- Assist during the Merchant Education Campaign.- Attend and participate in conferences and internal in-services as required.- Demonstrate interest in long and short term goals and objectives of the company.- Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulations of the assigned program.- Aptitude to develop, coordinate, and evaluate services.- Capability to communicate ideas clearly and produce clear and concise reports.Experience and/or Education Qualifications:- Master’s Degree in social work, counseling, public health, education, psychology, community development, public administration or related field; OR- Bachelor’s Degree in related fields with at least one year professional experience in a social service agency; OR- Associate's Degree in related fields with at least two years professional experience in a social service agency.- 75% FTE Staff must obtain Missouri Substance Abuse Prevention Associate (MSAPA) credential within six months of hire.- 75% FTE Staff must attend Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist Training (SAPST) within nine months of hire.Supervisory Requirements: NoneEmployment Requirements:- Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect and fingerprint check.- Completion of New Hire Orientation.- All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.- Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance.Physical Requirements:- Sedentary work involving exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible force frequently.- Repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and/or writing.Position Perks & Benefits:- Paid time off for full-time employees.- Employee benefits package for full-time employees including health, dental, vision, retirement, life, & more.- Initial, ongoing, comprehensive, and supportive training.- Career mobility and advancement opportunities.- Welcoming, warm, supportive work culture promoting well-being and health.Company Mission:Brightli aims to improve client care, reduce financial burden of community mental health centers by sharing resources, increase advocacy for mental health and substance use care access, and evolve the behavioral health industry to better meet client needs.
