Job Summary:

ROOTS Academy is seeking dedicated Piano and/or Voice Mentors who are passionate about teaching and mentoring students to reach their full potential. As a Mentor at ROOTS, you will guide students in developing their musical abilities, from foundational techniques to advanced performance skills, while also fostering personal growth both in and outside the studio. We are looking for individuals who are committed to long-term teaching and eager to contribute to our vibrant music community. Key Responsibilities:

• Instruct students in instrumental techniques, scales, sight reading, and music theory.
• Guide students in preparing for auditions and live performances.
• Maintain open communication with parents, providing regular updates on their child’s progress, especially as most of our students are aged 7-17.
• Participate in bi-monthly staff meetings, quarterly recitals, and occasional staff training sessions.

Work Schedule:

• Mentors are typically scheduled for 2-3 days per week during the following hours:
  • Monday-Thursday: 2:00-8:30 pm
  • Friday: 2:00-7:00 pm
  • Saturday: 10:00 am-2:00 pm
• All lessons take place at our 16,500-square-foot campus in the Brentwood/Cool Springs area, which features 15 music studios, including a band rehearsal space and two studios equipped with baby grand pianos.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of one year of prior teaching experience is required.
• Commitment to at least one year of consistent teaching at ROOTS Academy.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check is mandatory.
• Availability during peak teaching times is essential; applicants actively pursuing tours or regular gigs during these hours will not be considered.
