Pediatric Surgery Position

Prisma Health, the largest not-for-profit healthcare provider in South Carolina, is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible pediatric surgeon to join a dynamic and expanding team of experienced physicians and advanced practice providers. In this role, you will primarily focus on clinical practice while also supervising and teaching medical students, pediatric residents, and surgical residents. Our Children's Hospital has consistently received national recognition for its quality of care.

Position Details:

• Engage in a busy clinical practice with two dedicated surgical days per surgeon and two half-day clinics on campus.
• Provide cover for Pediatric Trauma for patients up to 14 years of age, bolstered by strong support from adult trauma services and a surgical resident team.
• Work alongside four advanced practice providers who support patient care both on the floors and after hours, with two residents on service.
• Join the only ACS Verified Level II Pediatric Trauma center in the region.
• The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) offers state-of-the-art care with 24-hour in-house intensivist coverage.
• Collaborate with 34 pediatric specialties including radiology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, ENT, anesthesiology, and neonatology.

It encompasses 20 subspecialty divisions and our freestanding Children's Hospital, collectively providing 160,000 patient encounters annually, with nearly 10,000 inpatient admissions and over 35,000 pediatric emergency visits.

For 32 out of the last 35 years, our department has been recognized as offering the best teaching clinical rotation. There are numerous opportunities for quality improvement, research, and participation in clinical trials available locally and across our Children's Service Line at our partner Children's Hospital in Greenville.
