Scripps Health Administrative Services supports our five hospital campuses, 31 outpatient centers, clinics, emergency rooms, urgent care sites, along with our 17,000 employees, more than 3,000 affiliated physicians and 2,000 volunteers.

This is a part-time position (48 hours every two weeks), working 12-hour day shifts, and located with the Scripps System-wide Resource Services (SSRS) department that supports the entire Scripps Health system. SSRS Patient Care Assistants (PCAs) mus t be willing to work at all five (5) Scripps Health hospital campuses: Encinitas, La Jolla, Torrey Pines, San Diego, and Chula Vista. SSRS employees earn additional compensation for their flexibility to float systemwide.

As a member of the SSRS team, you will fill vital roles on assignments throughout the system to provide critical coverage for employee leave of absences, sick calls, and peak service demands while gaining experience in a variety of environments. Join our Scripps SSRS team PCA where you will provide direct patient care within the scope of your practice. This includes the following:

• Provides excellent service to patients as a key member of the clinical care team.
• Assists patients with personal needs and activities of daily living, collects data, and ensures the patient has a safe, organized environment.
• Assists with patient care within the scope permitted and under the direction of a clinician.
• Supports the unit with a variety of patient logistic, clerical, equipment/supply, and charge reconciliation duties.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

• One year of recent experience working under the license of an licensed healthcare provider OR current enrollment or completion of Nursing Assistant training from a recognized school OR current enrollment in an RN program with completion of the second semester, including nursing fundamentals
• Must be able to speak, read and follow instruction in English
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a service aptitude
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Provider

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

• CNA certification
• Multiple patient care skills preferred
• Preferred one year acute care experience

• Must be willing to work at all five (5) Scripps Health hospital campuses: Encinitas, La Jolla, Torrey Pines, San Diego, and Chula Vista.

Position Pay Range: $25.48-$30.89/hour
