LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is looking for a talented, collaborative individual with strong attention to detail, to join our team as a Part-Time Graphic Designer in Gainesville, FL . This position is responsible for conceptualization and design of graphic applications such as environmental graphics, print, corporate identity, branding, integrated multi-media marketing concepts and materials. This position creates and designs graphic art and visual elements for all media from concept to final production.

Responsibilities Include (but Are Not Limited To)

  • Develop and create design elements such as logos, accent graphics and conceptual artwork
  • Develop comprehensive large desktop publishing materials for marketing, education and instructional purposes
  • Produce graphics for multi-media use
  • Manage the brand to keep it consistent and recognizable
  • Design all collateral materials including, but not limited to: posters, templates, digital media, billboards, ads, brochures, certificates, plaques and web elements
  • Develop all collateral and brand guidelines for corporate identity
  • Develop brand elements with the ability to integrate and bridge elements across campaigns while staying within brand guidelines
  • Learn latest software and upgrades to stay proficient and efficient in design
  • Design and produce internal and external newsletters
  • Edit and write copy while adhering to AP Style
  • Interface with internal and external groups to meet the design and production of graphic materials
  • Perform other various duties, as assigned by the Marketing Manager
  • Must have consistent and reliable transportation
  • Attendance is a requirement of this position

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license. Must also meet and maintain LifeSouth driver's eligibility requirements
  • Advanced computer skills and experience with computer programs such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), Adobe Pro, Adobe Acrobat Writer/Reader, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
  • Minimum 35 wpm typing speed
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple assignments concurrently
  • Ability to effectively participate in a time-critical team environment
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and the public
  • Advanced communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to prepare concise and informative reports
  • Ability to work with confidential records and maintain confidentiality of these materials
  • Ability to organize and manage time effectively
  • Knowledge and experience with electronic or mechanical equipment such as digital and video cameras

We are committed to meeting the blood supply needs of hospitals and their patients by providing the highest quality blood components and services. With more than 45 donor centers, 55 bloodmobiles and 2,000 blood drives a month, our LifeSouth team is dedicated to making sure the blood is there when you or your family is in need.
