ABC 13 WSET is looking for a dynamic full-time News Anchor. In addition to being an outstanding journalist with a great personality, you need to be a team leader. Our anchors are newsroom leaders who participate in the planning of our newscasts and produce content regularly. It is an expectation that you will regularly get out from behind the news desk and turn accountability-driven news stories. A competitive passion to win and openness to innovation is mandatory! Our winning candidate will be someone who embraces social media and knows how to consistently engage with the audience. Collaboration is a big part of this role! You are also expected to help mentor our early career journalists. The ideal candidate will have: Strong leadership skills Smooth, energetic, and pleasant delivery Strong writing skills and news judgment Exemplary communication skills Team player Requirements and Qualifications: You must have at least 5 years of on-air experience Live commercial television experience is a must Strong "in-the-field and live" skills Exceptional written communications skills using a conversational writing style Strong editorial judgment and a proven ethical foundation A strong social media presence and proven track record of engaging our viewers. Regular public appearances at station sponsored events Regular shift is 2:30pm – 11:30 pm Monday-Friday (Expected to fill in on weekends and other shifts as needed.)
