We’re actively seeking a talented Network Operations Lead to join our team in Lynchburg, VA.

• This role is hybrid. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office.

As a Network Operations Lead you’ll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by overseeing the daily operations of the network infrastructure, ensuring its performance, reliability, and security. This new role involves coordinating activities of network engineers and technicians, developing operational strategies, and collaborating with other departments to support organizational goals. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in network operations, strong leadership skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

How you’ll help move us forward:
  • Oversee full scope of operations and maintenance of the organization’s network infrastructure.
  • Ensure the network operates efficiently and meets organizational needs.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
  • Implement network security measures to protect data and resources.
  • Develop and implement network operations policies and procedures.
  • Plan and manage network upgrades and expansions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements and conduct regular network security audits and assessments
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in network management.
  • Establish organization-wide standards for products, platforms, software, hardware, or appliance-based solutions related to network operations; develop and direct implementation of standards and best practices for the organization 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, diagrams and schematics
  • Prepare and present reports on network performance and incidents.
  • Participate in security incident response efforts by directing first responders to triage an event and performing advanced response actions for escalated events 
  • Attract, retain, and develop top talent; provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to engineering professionals; foster collaboration with team members to drive value and identify and resolve impediments


The experience you bring:

  • 5+ years leading a network operations team in an enterprise environment 
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering, implementing, and supporting global networks 
  • Advanced technical skills and experience with the following: Splunk, SolarWinds, ServiceNow, Wireshark, ClearPass, Active Directory and Group Policy Objects, Windows and Linux operating systems 
  • Strong background in network infrastructure, protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and datacenter technologies (Cisco ACI, NDO, VXLAN)
  • Experience leading outsourced and remote teams 
  • Effective communication with the ability to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders and with experience presenting the business side of technical topics to non-technical audiences 
  • One or more of the following certifications: CCNP, CCIE 
  • B.S/MS in Engineering and/or Computer Science or equivalent experience

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$116,370.00 - $142,230.00
