Graduate of High School or equivalent
Associate Degree preferred
Fluent in the relevant foreign language
Two years healthcare experience preferred
Current knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and health care conditions
Proof of qualification
We require candidates to provide proof of successful completion of a bilingual fluency assessment or any similar qualifying test as part of the application process. Based on the candidates previous job-related experience, we may offer to cover the cost of the required assessment if there is no proof offered at the time of application.

Certification and Licensure
Certification in one of the following:
National Board of Certified Medical Interpreters -NBCMI
Certification for Health Care Interpreters -CCHI
National Certification for Health Care Interpreters- CIHC
Skills and Abilities
Excellent interpretive skills including medical interpretation.
Excellent interpersonal/communication and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Medical Terminology
Awareness and sensitivity to cultural differences
Attention to Detail
Proficiency in Document Translation
Bilingual Fluency
Ability to problem solve and work with minimal supervision.
Special Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this Job, the partner is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The partner is frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel. The partner is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Some independent judgment is required when addressing complaints and resolving problems; partner adherence to annual education requirements.
