Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our production team. This role involves assembling complex mechanical systems and capital equipment used in plastics manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on experience with assembly processes, and the ability to work from blueprints and technical drawings to build high-quality equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble mechanical components and systems for capital equipment according to detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
Interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to ensure accurate assembly.
Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to complete assembly tasks.
Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure assemblies meet company standards and customer requirements.
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Document assembly activities and report progress to supervisors.
Assist with equipment testing and adjustments as required.
Follow safety protocols and company policies at all times.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in mechanical assembly is a plus.
Proven experience in mechanical assembly, preferably in manufacturing or industrial equipment.
Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
Proficiency with hand and power tools, and basic measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills.
Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move parts and equipment as needed (up to 50 lbs).
Comfortable working on assembly lines and standing for extended periods.
Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
